Tasting - Opera Prima Sweet Red

Name: Opera Prima Sweet Red
Variety: 50% Tempranillo, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
Region: Daimiel
Country: Spain
Year: 2010
Price: $4.95

Winery Review: "Doesn’t try to hide its warm-climate terroir, with a soft texture framing jammy-sweet black raspberry, cherry, red currant, root beer and sweet tea. Drink now." Vintage Cellar wine notes

My Review: It's hard to believe that this is even wine, tasted more like a fruit cocktail or red Kool-Aid as some connoisseurs in class called it. I immediately sensed the cherry and raspberry tones and their sweetening effect on the wine. The Sweet Red is obviously a red wine but I had a deep, more saturated red hue to it than the other red wines. A nice wine to sip and one that most all can enjoy.

I sampled the wine without food.
